Manor Farm Voted Club's Best Certificated Site For 2018

Manor Farm Camping near Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire has been voted The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Best Certificated Site for 2018.

The awards are split into five categories and the winning sites are crowned based on the number of nominations they have received from Club members who have stayed in accommodation on Certificated Sites.

A smallholding of ten acres, site owner Catherine Barker opened the site in 2014 to help others enjoy the surroundings she and her young family themselves enjoy. Catherine, a long-time motorhomer herself who has spent time touring France and enjoying rallies in Spain with the Club, said: “Since we opened we’ve worked hard to improve our site facilities.

“I have a young family and it’s been nice to get them involved in opening up our home for others to enjoy. We have a herd of pigs and dexter cows that campers are welcome to come and say hello to.”

Certificated Sites are small, privately run, campsites that are exclusively for Club members. They can accommodate up to five caravans or motorhomes and up to ten tents at any one time.

Catherine added: “We also sell our own sausages, burgers and beef from a little cabin on site called the Farmer’s Den. From here we also sell home-produced bacon and bread and we have a big pizza oven too – Saturday night is pizza night and on Friday’s we do a pie and peas special.”

Alongside taking the overall title for Best CS, Manor Farm also won the award for Best Family Site in the competition. The site has a large park, pond and play area for young children to enjoy that is fringed by quiet pitches where parents can keep a watchful eye. And while there are pitches perfect for families, there is also a quieter area of the site that’s perfect for adult-only groups.Manor Farm Voted Club's Best Certificated Site For 2018

The site is open year-round, with a good mix of pitch types, backpacker facilities, drying room and even a motorhome service point. The pretty market town of Beverley, that’s also home to a 13th century minster, is about four miles away.

Darren Whittington, Membership Services Director at the Club, said: “The Barker family has worked so hard to create a campsite that’s more than just a place for campers to pitch up and lay their head.

“There’s everything you could want here, from an on-site shop to a play area for children and idyllic walks nearby. I can see why Club members have voted Manor Farm the best CS for 2018.”

Pitches on Certificated Sites start from £10 per unit per night, with many sites open year-round. They range from sites with full facilities ideal for families, through to sites with minimal facilities in secluded hideaway locations, often within National Parks, or other locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited.
