Country pursuits day raises £4,500 for charity

The Farm Consultancy Group were delighted to co-host a fantastic day of country pursuits which showcased the generosity of the rural community, raising £4,500 in aid of Wiltshire MIND and The UK Sepsis Trust.

The UK Sepsis Trust and Mind Wiltshire were chosen due to our neighbouring friend and farmer having sepsis last year and who is still recovering.  Mental health, unfortunately, has taken some of our farming friends and colleagues far too early and we are trying to raise awareness and reduce the stigma that it associated with mental health and to share that: “It’s ok to not be ok.” country pursuits day - a Landrover drive blindfolded

The day started with over 130 people from a range of national and local businesses within the agricultural sector coming together to raise money for these two very deserving charities.  The activities included:

  • Clay pigeon shooting

  • Blind-folded Land Rover driving

  • Axe-throwing

  • Archery and much more

Once the teams had finished the activities a raffle and auction were then held to raise further funds. Prizes included a Bath rugby shirt, a morning at the Gallops, a Land Rover experience day, clay pigeon shooting, golf, hampers and vouchers that had all been kindly donated by local businesses.

Organisers said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the event, especially the co-hosts; Royds Withy King, Old Mill and Woolley & Wallis and for Owl Lodge in Lacock, Chippenham for the use of their spectacular venue.”
